  • Develop and lock down the product specification
  • Customisation: materials, dimensions, colours, finish
  • Packaging design and production
  • Negotiate realistic minimum order quantities

  • Agree pricing at your target volume
  • Confirm production timelines
  • Handle all supplier communication
  • Procurement once the sample is approved
How it works

How a private label project runs.

  1. 01

Bring the idea or the reference product

A sketch, a competitor's product, a sample you bought, or a written description. Tell us your target retail price and the quantity you can realistically commit to.

  2. 02

We match a manufacturer and specify it

We find factories that genuinely make this category, agree the specification, work out MOQ and unit price, and design the packaging around your brand.

  3. 03

    Sample, approve, produce

Sampling rounds until it is right, then production with your branding, checked before dispatch.

Pricing

What this costs.

Private label is quoted per project because the work depends entirely on the product. A branded label on an existing item is a small job. A new mould is not.

Third-party costs are separate

We charge our fee only. Everything we pay on your behalf — product cost, transport in China, samples, shipping, accommodation, testing — is billed at cost.

Questions

Before you ask.

What is the difference between this and sourcing?

Product & Supplier Sourcing finds you the best existing product. Private label has something made to your specification, with your branding. The second involves sampling rounds, packaging and usually a higher MOQ.

What MOQ should I expect?

It depends completely on the product and whether tooling is involved. We find out the real numbers early, before you build a business plan on a guess.

Who owns the mould or tooling?

This needs to be agreed with the factory in writing, up front. We raise it as part of the negotiation. It is one of the things buyers most often forget to settle.

How many samples will I need?

Rarely one. Plan for two or three rounds on a new product. Each round costs money and time. We try to get the specification right before the first sample, not after.

Can you protect my design?

We can help you put sensible commercial agreements in place with the factory, and we will advise on what is normal practice. We are not lawyers, and for anything you consider genuinely valuable you should take proper legal advice as well.
